FEATURES:-

 

Designed for use with Peltier/Thermo Electric Coolers, these drivers are available in 5 amp and 10 amp outputs, and can be used for a variety of applications. They can be used either for system evaluation or for production runs.

The drivers are current controllers, robust, easy to use, allowing series connection of coolers.

Four modes of cooling demand are selectable by jumpers:-
  4 to 20mA or 0 to 5 v d.c.to give fully variable output in proportion to input signal;
  External volt free contact from a thermostat or process controller;
  Logic/SSD 5 to 15v d.c typically from a temperature controller solid state drive.

The time proportioned output of a temperature controller can be damped to give a smoother current feed to the cooler.

Maximum current can be repeatably set by means of on board DIL switches.

The control semiconductors are fitted to the special mounting bracket, which should be fixed to a chassis or other heatsink in higher power applications. Thermal protection shuts the controller down if the bracket reaches too high a temperature.These drivers are designed to be fed by a transformer or simple power supply and should not be fed from switched mode power supplies.

DETAILS

Supply:- 24vac typical, (up to 35vdc peak), or 9 to35vdc.

Output :- 10amp or 5amp D.C. at up to 30v depending on transformer used.

Input/Cool Demand set by means jumper links to:-
   4 to 20mA or 0 to 5 v d.c unisolated to give fully variable output in proportion to input signal.
      
This input is not isolated from the low voltage supply or cooling device.
   Logic/SSD 5 to 15v d.c. Opto Isolated. Input damping - link selectable.
   Voltage free contact closure.   Input damping can be used to slow on/off transition.
      
This input is not isolated from the low voltage supply or cooling device.

Maximum Current setting by means of DIL switch.(15 steps)

Connections to the PCB by means of plug-in screw terminals.

Power on LED.                      On board fuse.

Operating temp:- 40°C max

Thermal Shut Down Temperature:- 70°C approx.
