TIMERS
The 1700 series industrial timers were originally made by Controls and Automation (CAL).
Many thousands of units have been supplied, controlling a vast array of industrial processes. The names of just a few of the machines that use and have used these timers are given in the list lower in the page.
Sub-assemblies are held in stock for the more common units to enable 24 hour order turn round.
A number of special units have been made in the past and, where records exist, can be made now.

DELAY and INTERVAL TIMERS
The 1701,1702 and 1703 are 'Delay' timers, their relay operates at the end of the preset time.
A delay circuit is initiated by applying the operating voltage. After the set delay, a trigger circuit energises the relay which has contacts that will switch the external load. The relay remains energised until the operating voltage is removed.
The 1751,1752 and 1753 are 'Interval' timers, their relay operates at the start of the preset time, and changes back at the end of the time.
The timer relay energises immediately on momentary or sustained initiation. At the end of the time period, the relay de-energises and remains so. The initiating signal must be removed and re-applied to obtain next operation.

1701 / 1751
REMOTE SET POINT TIMER WITH ISOLATED CONTROL CIRCUIT
The 1701 and 1751 timers are designed to work with a remote time setting potentiometer. The timers are housed in a standard 11 Pin plug in module.
The control circuit and the potentiometer are isolated from the mains supply ( in 230v and 115v circuits). So the setting potentiometer can be fitted on 'Mains Free' panels or alongside sensitive electronics.
Different time scales are achieved by changing the value of the remote setting potentiometer.

1702 / 1752
PLUG IN MODULE TIMER
The 1702 and 1752 timers are plug in module timers with standard 8 pin base connection. It has an integral time scale.
The control circuit is isolated from the mains supply on 240v and 115v units providing superior rejection of interference, and low heat dissipation.

1703 / 1753
PANEL MOUNTING TIMERS
The 1703 and 1753 timers are for front panel mounting.
The Nextel surface provides a good looking finish, which is very resistant to industrial wear and tear.
These timers have a scaled fascia and are fitted with a setting lock.
A high brightness LED shows during the timed period.
The brown Nextel bezels and styling match CAL 6000 and 5000 temperature controllers.

SPECIAL UNITS
Many special units have been made in the past and, where records exist, can be made now. Sub-assemblies are held in stock for the more common units.
for example:-
T01 [also known as the S96 or 37901..] originally made for Harefield doors.
T04 [also known as the S42 or 37904..] originally made for Austin Allen
We have some details of nearly 50 different special designs!

HISTORY
These timers were originally made by CAL, subsequently between 1990 and 1997 the units were made by
ACCRIS.For a long period the CAL timer numbering system started with a 3-- so that 37012A was the number applied to a 17012A
